About Us The Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance (HREDA) represents fifteen jurisdictions in Southeastern Virginia to market the region nationally and internationally in conjunction with the resources and investment of the business community. HREDA localities include the Cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Poquoson, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and Williamsburg, and the Counties of Gloucester, James City, Isle of Wight, Southampton and York. Staff Directory | Accreditation The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) announced on June 29, 2004 that the Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance has been recognized as one of 26 economic development organizations in the United States with the designation of Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO). The AEDO program is a comprehensive peer review process that measures economic development organizations against commonly held standards in the profession. The two phase process consists of documentation review and an onsite visit. Each phase is designed to evaluate information about the structure, organization, funding, programs, and staff of the candidate economic development organization. |
